Reflection

1. What you learn From Model U.N?

The main thing I learned from Model U.N was to actually research something. To not to just go along with what ever comes up in Google and put that in a position paper. Also public speaking for me wasn't my thing but in Model U.N those fears banished and I learn to improvise much better.

2. How can you apply this to your life.

Well in high school you always will have projects where you would have to research something and thanks to Model U.N now I know that that you have to go to different sites, documents, ext. And specially right now that is final's week there a lot of presentations so speaking to the in front of the whole class is not an issue to me anymore. And in those times where i get stuck on something I have learn that you just need to take a deep breath and improvise just like if you were at a simulation...

Model U.N ROCKS!!!

Position Paper

Committee: Security Council

Country: United Kingdom

Topic: Disarmament in third world countries

Name: Josue Rodriguez

Greetings honorable chair,

As we all know it is not safe to encounter nuclear weapons in your own land. Especially in third world countries, these third world countries are putting themselves in danger. The countries that fall in this problem are Israel, Pakistan, India, and North Korea. United Kingdom wishes that the countries called join the NPT. The NPT stands for Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. This is a treaty to end the proliferation to end nuclear weapons. We would hate to see a nuclear accident like 3 mile island, Chernobyl, and in Japan. We need to secure the safety of the whole world in a peaceful manner.

United Kingdom has helped the problem in the different way. The United Kingdom has worked with the European Union also know as the E3/EU, in an accomplished mission. In a agreement between Iran and E3/EU concerning Iran’s nuclear programme. Which was manly Iran agreeing to suspend all nuclear activities including energy. The United Kingdom is fully committed to a free-nuclear zone around the world. We also smile towards the enforcement of Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). So that environmental damages can be avoid and citizens can be safe.

We need to work together with those countries that have these nuclear weapons; they need to realize that they are putting them country in danger as well as the whole world. We all need to seek for at least the security of these nuclear activities specially those countries that fall in the range where there are people around. We also need to consider the security around these nuclear weapons, because they can get stolen by possible terrorist.
For a short term solution offered by the United kingdom, is that countries that do not want to cooperated, the U.K recommends to place sanctions in them. To be able to accomplish something for the good of the humans we all have to work together. As mention the CTBT treaty can be enforce as a short term solution. The United Kingdom will be open for any suggestions or acknowledgements about possible solutions.
